Pattern, grade, hardness range and machining allowance are set against your drawing. Where you are not sure of the grade, tell us the duty and the failure mode you are seeing and we will recommend one.

Envelope
What fits through the plant.
These are the practical limits set by our melting, moulding, heat treatment and machining equipment. Parts outside them can often be split, cast and assembled — worth asking.

- 5 kg to approximately 10,000 kg poured weight
- Pouring
- Bottom-pour ladles 5, 10 and 15 MT; tilting ladles 300 kg, 500 kg, 2 MT
- Moulding
- Two-part no-bake finotech resin sand, PLC-controlled mixing
- Heat treatment
- 5 MT and 15 MT batch solution annealing with water quench
- Machining
- Vertical boring to 1200 mm spindle diameter, milling, planing, shaping, drilling
- Surface
- Shot blasting on a 1.5 m table, grinding, pneumatic chipping
- Lead time
- 6–10 weeks on repeat patterns; 12–16 weeks where new pattern work is needed
